Hearing in Colour!

I just watched this very interesting video on TED about a man called Neil Harbisson, who was born completely colour blind. This means he saw everything in grey, black and white. No colours.

Until he installed colour frequency technology into his own brain, and actually has an electromagnetic frequency measuring device attached to his skull. Now he hears in colour!
What I mean is, red things for example are very high pitched, and blue things are low pitched.
He even "hears" the colours of people! And things our own human eyes can't see, like infared and ultraviolet waves.

Watch his demonstration here!

He makes an interesting point that I'd like you to consider:
“Life will be much more exciting when we stop creating applications for mobile phones and we start creating applications for our own body.”

Would you ever consider getting a super human mechanical "app" for your body? Like super hearing or x-ray vision? Why/why not?
