Are class size to big?

In my opinion the answer is no.

There appears to be no proof that smaller classes have any benefit towards i creasing academic performance. In fact, in Australia the opposite seems to have proven.

the average class size has reduced over the past 10 years, meanwhile academic performance suffered.

I agree with Mr. Pyne, as does professor Scott Prasser, Executive Director of the Public Policy Institute, that unions and government are too obsessed with class size even thought repeated studies, Australian and International, have failed to produce any link between class size and educational performance.

I believe that, reward for seniority instead of performance, the low academic standard requirement of people choosing to study teaching at the University, and not targeting spending at the correct areas, is more concern than whether or not teaching has only 3 or 5 less students in their class than they would have had ten years ago.

There needs to be accountability on school and more incentive for academic gifted student to choose teaching as career, and for teachers to progress there of teaching. at the moment if you are an exceptional teacher you are getting paid the same as a teacher that has not produced equivalent standards of teaching.

Perhaps money should be spend on making tutors more accessible to those who need it.

  1. Class sizes should decrease
I believe it would be better if there would be more teachers and if the class sizes would decrease because people who need lot of help would get it from teachers.
