Just A Shirt

Politics and sport are the most boring subjects to have ever existed. So why on earth are we combining the two? Politics need to stay in the Parliament House and Sport needs to stay in the sporting arena. I don't want to be opening the newspaper to read something as ridiculous as some man puts on a shirt and offends the world. Damien Hooper is an aboriginal boxer - he is a proud boxer who just happened to love his country so he put a shirt on showcaseing his Heritage. Good on him.

Now lets switch it; if you were wearing your own country's flag on your own shirt, would it "erk" you as much? Would it piss you off?... Didn't think so. Hooper won that round and progressed through to the next round. Let's be proud of that.

I think people should wear whatever they want. It's freedom of speech, or in this case; freedom of fashion. A flag does not hurt anybody. We should all be proud where we come from. What a waste of time that these "journalists" have wasted "reporting" on this. They should of focused on the fact that he won! I have read other blogs and people have written that "oh if he can wear that then other people can wear the swastika symbol on their shirt". No. That is not okay. That is offensive. That is a movement, not a representation of a country. And personally, as long as you don't go killing off anybody, wear what you want. Who am I to say what you can and can't wear?

Damien Hooper is a legend! I don't see why it is so wrong for somebody to wear a shirt to the Olympics. In fact i'm wearing a shirt right now and I can bet you right now you're probably wearing some sort of shirt as well. My point here is that IT'S JUST A SHIRT. The media should be focusing on the fact that he actually won in that round and not because he wore a shirt. When all is said and done. All that Hooper has done is put on a shirt.

  1. Yeah, I found it funny that each article went on about the shirt thing, and at the end, almost like an after-point they say "Oh yeah, and he won the match too."- Get with the real issues, that he kicks butt! Haha.
