So many possibilities.

 So many possibilities.

  • Enhanced communication facilities.
  • Easy data and file sharing.
  • Quick access to news and information.
  • The creation of new community forums.
  • Ample time wasting opportunities.
  • New potential for advertising.
  • More tools for small business.
  • More tools for large business.
  • New places to meet people.
  • Online gaming.
  • Huge multimedia outlets.
  • Freedom of speech.

These are great things, right?

Well there are a few double edged swords.
At least a few that, while they are fantastic they have bad sides to them.
When everything gets easier and faster with the internet, we start paying less and less attention and giving less and less time to each individual pursuit of ours.
Although is the increase in opportunities to procrastinate really something that outweighs the potential good that the internet provides?

With the current prevalence of social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter on the rise and their intent to ingrain themselves into our lives increasing. We need to ask ourselves personally if these sites are a detriment to our lives.

In the case of Facebook and Twitter I believe that the choice in how we use them defines how positive or negative their impact can be.

I believe that the internet is something positive but like all great things:

"With great power comes great responsibility."
