Class Sizes

Thinking back to highschool, or even primary school, you remember your favourite classes, it may have been because you had an awesome teacher that would play the ukelele, or because you got to sit next to your best friend.

But mostly I remember my favourite classes because they were small and because of this I learnt so much.

Smaller class sizes equal a more effective learning environment for many reasons:
     * More classroom control from the teacher
     * A more intimate learning environment, being able to discuss issues that arise from learning   certain topics etc.
     * Providing more memorable and enjoyable experiences of learning, encouraging for future study

There is the problem of financial funding for public schools to have smaller class sizes, but if we do not find a solution for this problem the quality of learning will deminish. There is only a certain amount of attention that can be given in a large classroom environment. That is what it comes down to in classroom learning the attention, focus and ability to learn is affective to how students will grasp the information being given to them.

Here is an information sheet detailing the need for smaller class sizes, given the extensive studies providing the proof of smaller class sizes being more effective.
