Hi  Everybody!

This is an interview with Heider an Iraqi home-stay student who I have been living with for the past few months, he has only been learning English on and off for a few years and so he used this as an opportunity to practice speaking.

I was trying to think of a way to pose the topic this to his situation, here goes....

Do the KIA?

No, don't do the KIA. What were they thinking? I mean it's kinda of an okay idea conceptual but it's just terrible in practice. When I say it's a good idea conceptually I mean food for people that don't have any is good but "likes" for food. That's just the worst. It's like a really sick joke.

News sites

SMH presents with a lot of information all at once. It's set out in a way that kind of makes you think theres tonnes and tonnes of informative information. But when it comes to the articles their less than engaging. I mean it's good but I just find it a little absent for some reason.

The Conversation is much better laid out and the articles are informative and indepth. It feels like a news article rather than just a recount. The Australiainstitute is rather minimalistic. Comprehensive articles though.  The Global Mail is really really comprehensive. The information is both factual, entertaining and insightful.

The Telegraph is similar to SMH in that it presents with a lot of info but without interesting and insightful articles. The ABC is comprehensive but brief. The Huffington Post is short but sweet. They get to the point, its comprehensive and is insightful.

Those are my opinions on the news sites. I think they all represent a certain type of information consumption methods as they are set out differently for good reasons.

Class Sizes

Are class sizes these days to big? i think they are, for example, throught highschool, nearly every classroom had at least 25-30 students to one teacher. With this ratio, it was really simple for people to get distracted, and not get anything class related done, and this would go on all day.

I think universities are the same on a much larger scale, as some small lecture theatres alone can seat upto 100+ people, and theres only one lecturer in the room at the time. Even with the student to teacher ration is ridiculous as ive seen courses with more than 200 students, and only 2 teachers for that particular class.

So yes i think class sizes are to big.

Why do people hate Video Games?

There are some people that will always just hate some things. I'm gonna share with you so legitimate issues and some that I think have been blown out of proportion.

From Brissie with love:)

Last week I visited one of the legends of Australia - SUNSTATE Queensland. It was my first visit to Brisbane. Therefore, my husband and I, as conservative tourists of good old days, went to the museums and galleries. There I made this video with some comments. Things I saw there were really breathtaking so my comments in English a bit ...in slow motion :) Please, forgive me. However I hope to compensate it with exсiting visual content :)
If you are pregnant or  weak minded, better just listen. Or hold someone's hand during watching, because some episodes are really spooky!!!!
P.S. Giant V Gaint ;)

I love TAFE

The TAFE funding cuts, the school cuts, casualing teachers...ect, are some solutions to recover the shortage of the Australian Ministry of Treasures
then it comes the $ billion mistack  scandal.!!!!
The big issue is Australia has spent a huge amount on schools over the last couple of decades, doubled its spending in real terms, while TAFE spending has flattened and higher education spending hasn't been rising like school spending, and we haven't had the returns for investment in that area that we should have seen.
Have a look at these sites and vedios to have a full idea about what is going on.!
Facts about the TAFE funding cuts

The Media or as we call it at Egypt " her majesty" supposed to

be utilized as a method to justify and support war and political campaigns not for intertanment only.

In now days the world wittiness a huge misleading Media specially in in covering the meddle eastern area news.

The fabricated news that misleading media channels are spreading to the world like poisson makes a huge impact on people's minds and opinions.

Here are some video examples explaining the misleading media works.

* these vedios don't present my own opinion they are just examples from different angles.

* some  vedios contain painful images ( I do apologize for any

 sadness they might cause)

LEAVE EDUCATION ALONE

“Thousands of people gathered in Sydney calling on Premier Barry O'Farrell to reverse $1.7 billion in cuts to NSW education. NSW Teachers Federation President, Maurie Mulheron, called on Mr O'Farrell to reverse the education cuts and job losses - including those of 800 TAFE teachers.” I was shocked and worried when I heard about these.

What does this mean to us!

Be honest I don’t know much about politics and it seems very complicated and frustrating to me.  BUT I do know that EDUCATION is extremely important to a person, a nation and the future of a country.  As a student I have been studying at TAFE for more than three years and I can tell the difference that it has made to my life through TAFE and I have been seeing so many great teachers and they are good at what they do. Education has given me the confidence to be employed and gives me the ability and skill to continue my education at university in the future. TAFE gives me, and everyone, the opportunity  to study the things they need with affordable fees.

I do agree that TAFE may need some changes and bit of an update to catch up with rest of other educational providers such as private schools and colleges. But if the State Government simplifies their action as ‘cutting’ then I believe that it’s radical and unacceptable. Thinking about this, if many people in this county cannot afford tertiary education then what is going to happen to nation in the long run? Please do not sale education and education does not need to be expensive because this isn’t the nature of education.

Please, Leave Education Alone!!
